Background
Parker’s Pictures is the photography practice of documentary style wedding photographer Parker Selman. We worked with her to create a brand identity and website that attracts new clients and feels reflective of her photographic style.
Brand Identity
It was important to capture the romance of Parker’s photography, highlighting the fusion of tradition and modernity. We found inspiration in New York City’s architecture, cherries on a wedding cake, and 1950’s black and white photography. We scoured Art Nouveau typographic reference books to inspire this hand-drawn mark. The brand color was drawn from Parker’s photography.
Showcasing Photography
For the website, the primary goal was showcasing Parker’s work and accolades.
Visually, we utilized white space to give a luxurious feel that is in line with her visual style and ensures her work has enough room to breathe. We wanted to add some interaction that accentuated the romantic elements of the site, without detracting from the photography. We opted to add fade in scroll animations and a header border animation that feels reminiscent of the Art Nouveau lettermark.
In WordPress, we built a custom, straightforward experience for easily adding organizing, tagging, and selecting photos.
“I had the chance to work with Byse on my website redesign. They are true creatives and visionaries. What a joy it was!”
– Parker Selman, Founder of Parker’s Pictures
Lead Generation
The main interaction on Parker’s website is encouraging new clients to fill out her contact form. We designed and built a custom form that generates an email with information about the new lead. The new form allows more specific information to be gathered on the lead, so Parker is able to better classify them from the get-go and start the conversation with an initial understanding of what the client is looking for.
